The actual Website Publishing Process has five distinct stages, explained below.
1. Domain Name Registration
2. Hosting Setup
3. Content Creation
4. Private Testing
5. Public Publishing

:: #1. Domain Name Registration ::

The first step to establishing your global Internet Presence is the registration of your own domain name. Your domain will not only serve to identify your website but also any additional Internet resources your company uses (ie. E-mail, conference servers, etc.)

The most common domain names available for US businesses are in the format domain.com, domain.org, or domain.net. The domain name you choose should reflect your name and/or business as accurately as possible, in the least amount of letters possible. Remember, the name you choose will be used by anyone wishing to visit your website, or send you e-mail. (ie. if you choose domain example.com, your website URL would be www.example.com, and your e-mail addresses would be in the form name@example.com).

Domain Name registration costs in the vicinity of $35/annually depending on the registrar used.

**Note: if your company already owns a domain name, step #1, does not apply.

:: #2. Hosting Setup ::

A domain is merely an address on the Internet, the actual service has to be provided by a host with a full-time connection to the Internet. Among other things, your webserver, e-mail, and e-commerce servers are configured at this point. Oddbite LLC provides hosting as one of it's core business products, and all of our web design clients receive complimentary unlimited service. For pricing and more information about our hosting services, please visit Oddbite's hosting page.

:: #3. Content Creation ::

At this step, your actual site is created by our design team according to your specifications. All of the materials provided are processed into an Internet-Friendly format, and any necessary software customizations are handled by our software department.

:: #4. Private Testing ::

After the completion of the design phase, your site is first thoroughly tested by our staff. All software applications are thoroughly debugged, and pages evaluated for technical error. Afterwards, the client is presented with the almost-finished website for private proofreading before the site goes public

:: #5. Public Publishing ::

After the client has finished proofreading, the site can immediately be published to the Internet.
